Your Future is Under Construction

A line is a human construction, a grid its structure. This is an attempt at architectural deconstructivism to echo the impacts of gentrification on the social fabric of a designated neighborhood. A photograph of a single building under construction in the West Philadelphia's promise zone has been fragmented through contact printing onto 16mm filmstrips then reprinted many times to embody the repetitive gesture of neighborhood development until it reaches abstraction.
